Shakespeare – redefined

Hello and welcome!

Greetings!

Join us on our journey to create accessible Shakespeare, engage communities and bring people together.

Born out of ashes of the Covid pandemic, the original 2m Theatre was started to give what was dearly needed in those difficult times. Lockdowns kept people apart and on screens, and 2m Theatre sought to get them engaging in their physical world around them and with communal experience. Now developed into Albion, we are on a mission to connect old and new, classic and contemporary, the mythological with the mundane. Performing mostly in the beautiful gardens and nature which make our island so magical, we want to uncover this magic and insert some of our own.

This year, we are touring Much Ado About Nothing!
See in an outdoor gym, where the guys and the gals all are focused on body toning and their physical appearance, is love possible? The malicious Don John, disgusted by the superficial preoccupations of the others, decides to deceive Claudio and shame Hero. Meanwhile, the friends of Beatrice and Benedick, who cannot help mocking each other in the gym, trick both of them into falling in love with each other. But amoungst all of these surface level focuses, and all these different relationship, we try and find an answer to the fundamental question What Is LOVE?

Albion in your School!

Book an Albion workshop →

Book one of our workshops to help your students understand that Shakespeare isn’t just text. We will come in, perform our show in whatever space is available (we always prefer outside, but our shows are versatile!) and then hold a workshop for your students so they can understand Shakespeare from a performance perspective. We work with your England or Drama department to tailor each workshop so they are ideal for your students’ needs – whether that’s a focus on prose or poetry, action or space, we design the best workshop for you.

Albion in your garden!

Bring live theatre to your green space!

We tour gardens and green spaces around London and beyond! Historically, we have toured to Lewisham, Greenwich, Tower Hamlets, Westminster and Kennsington & Chelsea. We also tour the West and previously have been to the Great Open Air Theatre in Manchester. If you think we won’t go there you’re probably wrong. All we need from you is the space and you can bring the audience! There are a number of ways we can work with you and your garden, just get in touch!
